The National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education Announces Advisory Board Members
National Leaders in Higher Education and Technology to Advise NITLE on Strategic Directions
The National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE), an initiative that connects teaching, learning and technology at the nation’s finest liberal arts colleges has announced members of the newly created NITLE Advisory Board. The board consists of representatives from liberal arts colleges across the country, as well as other leaders in the field of higher education and technology. The group will advise NITLE on strategic directions for its activities in support of liberal education.
NITLE was established in 2001 with funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to promote the integration of instructional technologies into undergraduate teaching. The initiative serves liberal arts colleges throughout the United States and has also worked with several universities and organizations internationally.
W. Joseph (Joey) King, Ph.D., a high-tech industry entrepreneur with extensive experience in higher education and technology, was named executive director of NITLE when its headquarters moved to Southwestern University last May. King will coordinate the activities of the Advisory Board.
“On behalf of the NITLE staff, Southwestern University and the participating institutions, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the new Advisory Board members,” King said. “We are truly honored to have such a distinguished group help develop the future of NITLE.”
