Lia Truitt joined Elizabeth Christian Public Relations (ECPR) five years ago after gaining valuable public relations and media experience as The University of Texas beat reporter for KTBC-TV/FOX 7 in Austin.
Truitt’s prior experience in the news industry paved the way for her transition to the public relations field. In her time at ECPR, she has worked with a broad spectrum of clients, such as the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Downtown Austin Alliance, Waller Creek Conservancy, Orangetheory Fitness, JW Marriott Austin and the Children’s Hospital Association of Texas, among many others.
This client work has allowed Truitt to gain valuable experience in executing media campaigns, developing and coordinating story pitches, material development (including legislative), video development and production, managing strategic communications plans, and coordinating and promoting client events.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Truitt is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism degree with a concentration in broadcast journalism.
She is an active member of the Junior League of Austin, serving as the 2017 PR Chair for the League’s largest annual fundraising event, A Christmas Affair. Truitt is also an active supporter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and was honored to be a Woman of the Year candidate in 2014.
