Misty Whited has more than 10 years of experience in media relations, strategic communications and marketing campaigns. During her time at ECPR, Whited has worked with high-profile clients including St. David’s HealthCare, Downtown Austin Alliance, United Way for Greater Austin and HomeAway.
Prior to joining ECPR, Whited managed the marketing and communications team at the Thinkery, which included spearheading the rebrand of Austin Children’s Museum to the Thinkery in 2013.
Previously, Whited spent five years as a spokesperson for Capital Metro, where she handled public relations strategies, crisis communications and event coordination. She also worked as a press secretary at the Texas Comptroller’s office and a producer at News 8 Austin (now Time Warner Cable News).
Whited earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with emphasis on print journalism from Texas State University.
She is a member of the University Star Excellence in Journalism Scholarship Committee at Texas State and serves on the communications council at Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
