Kristin
Marcum brings almost a decade of experience in media relations,
public affairs, crisis communications and special event management
to work for her clients. Marcum manages a variety of high-profile
entities including St. David's HealthCare-with its five Central
Texas hospitals-Exelon Nuclear and Concordia University Texas, among
others.
Marcum has managed successful media campaigns for a number of projects
and announcements, most recently the Austin launch of the luxurious
21c Museum Hotel. Marcum also managed publicity for Cirque du Soleil's
2005 Austin presentation of VAREKAI and H-E-B's 2004, 2005 and 2006
Excellence in Education Awards.
Marcum has successfully orchestrated a number of special events
for the firm, including the launch of Time Warner Cable's 24-hour
news station, News 8 Austin; the VIP and media nights for Barnum's
Kaleidoscape and others. She coordinated the major social events,
guest and youth activities, volunteer effort and transportation
on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House of
Texas for the 2001 National Conference of State Legislatures, attended
by more than 7,000 people from across the United States.
Marcum joined Elizabeth Christian & Associates in January, 1999,
worked for the firm for three years, and rejoined Elizabeth Christian
& Associates in 2003. In the interval between her stints with the
firm, Marcum worked in public relations for two of the firm's clients-KLRU-TV,
Public Television for Central Texas, and ACS Inc., a Dallas-based
Fortune 500 company.
A graduate of Texas State University, Marcum earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Mass Communication with a public relations major
and political science minor.
