ECPR—and clients—take steps to fight heart disease at the 2015 Heart Walk

October 23, 2015

On Saturday, Oct. 17, several ECPR employees participated in the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heart Walk. While everyone was likely there for different reasons, we’re all working toward one common goal—to fight heart disease, the No. 1 killer of all Americans.

We had the privilege of walking alongside a number of our clients who went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts. St. David’s HealthCare was this year’s top fundraising company, raising nearly $108,000! Not far behind St. David’s was another client, Texas Mutual, which raised more than $55,000—securing its place on the board as the third-highest fundraising company. (In case you missed it, Texas Mutual CEO Rich Gergasko took a seat in the barber’s chair for a buzz cut when his employees met their fundraising goal!)

Although the Heart Walk walk wasn’t a long one (admittedly, we walked the “Miracle Mile,” with dogs and kids in tow), it signifies a substantial stride in the treatment of heart disease.

Thank you to everyone who supported ECPR’s fundraising efforts. We raised more than $13,000 for the cause (which will help fund the life-saving work of the AHA right here in Central Texas), contributing to the fundraiser’s total of nearly $1 million!
